National Karate Championship to be held in Goa on 29th January 2009

Goa will be host to the JKA India's National Karate Championship which will be held on the 29th of January 2009. More details will be out soon. Watch this space soon....

Advanced Karate Camp held at B.M. Hall, Margao

An advanced level Karate camp was held at the B.M. Hall Dojo Margao by Sensai Anand Ratna, 6th Dan Black Belt and a JKA 'A' licensed instructor, judge and examiner. Sensai Ratna's training stressed on the perfection of techniques, breathing control, mastering balance and movement. The students received valuable training in Kata and Kumite techniques.

After the training, Sensai Ratna graded the 3rd to the 1st kyu's. Below are the results of the grading:

The camp was well attended by JKA Shotokan students, and other senior Goan Sensai's like Agnelo Rodrigues (3rd Dan), Valmiki Menezes (2nd Dan), Raj Khanna (2nd Dan), Siraj Sheikh (1st Dan), and other senior brown belts and junior students.

Inter Dojo Karate Championship: A Grand Success!

First of its kind, the invitational inter Dojo JKA Shotokan Karate Championship was held on 7th June 2008 in B.M. Hall Borda Margao Goa. Over 80 Karatekas from all over Goa took part in the championship and was a great success. The tournament was officiated by international Karate Judge and instructor Sensei Agnelo Rodrigues. He was assisted, among others, by Sensei Sanjay Naik and Siraj Shaikh.

The following Karatekas from the Borda Dojo stole the limelight by bagging the coveted 'Double Gold', a gold in Kata and Kumite each, in their respective category:
